Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has addressed eight men of God arrested over fake miracle claims, stating that their release would depend on a public demonstration of their claimed spiritual powers.
Speaking on the matter, Soludo said the suspects were “holding themselves in detention,” adding that the government is prepared to release them if they can replicate the miracles they claim to perform in their churches.
He challenged them to proceed to a hospital and demonstrate healing abilities on patients with serious medical conditions.
“You are holding yourselves in detention. We are ready to release you if you can perform the so-called ‘arranged miracles’ you claim to do in your churches. Come to the hospital and lay your hands on any crippled person, blind person, or someone with spinal cord injury. If they are healed, you will be released immediately,” the governor says.
