Residents along Anu Street, Ikom–Obudu Road in Cross River State were thrown into confusion on Saturday following allegations against an elderly woman known in the area for selling akara and bread.
According to eyewitness accounts, some customers reportedly became suspicious after noticing the woman carrying a container and attempting to keep its contents hidden. The witnesses alleged that when they demanded to inspect the container, she initially refused. The container was later opened by members of the crowd, who claimed it contained human feces.
