A tragic incident occurred in Aba, Abia State, on Saturday after a 5-year-old girl was swept away by floodwaters into the Aba River, popularly known as Waterside, during a heavy downpour.
According to eyewitnesses, the child was carried away by the strong current as floodwaters overwhelmed the area.
As of Monday morning, rescue efforts were still ongoing, with residents and volunteers gathered along the riverbank in a desperate search for the girl's body, which has yet to be recovered.
