It is a day of remembrance.
A day to pause and reflect on the lives that were lost, the dreams that were cut short, and the suffering endured by millions during one of the darkest chapters in our history.
Today, we remember the Igbo children whose laughter was silenced too soon.
We remember the Igbo mothers who watched helplessly as hunger and war took everything from them.
We remember the Igbo fathers who left their homes to protect their families and never returned.
We remember the elderly who died far from the lands they called home.
We remember the countless Igbo men and women whose names may never appear in history books, yet whose sacrifices remain written in our hearts
Today is not about hatred.
It is not about revenge.
It is about remembrance.
It is about ensuring that the pain, tears, and sacrifices of those who suffered are never forgotten.
History may be debated. Politics may change. Generations may come and go.
But the memories of those who perished must never be erased.
As the sun rises on this May 30th, may we remember those Biafrans who walked through hunger, displacement, fear, and uncertainty.
May we remember those who carried out hope when hope seemed lost.
May we remember those who gave everything for what they believed in.
And may we pray that such tragedy never visits us again.
Today, we remember.
Tomorrow, we remember.
Forever, we remember.
Biafra Day 2026.
WE WILL NEVER FORGET.
