Popular Nollywood actress Yvonne Jegede has sparked reactions on social media after strongly criticizing supporters of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration over the worsening state of insecurity in Nigeria.
The actress made the controversial statement while reacting to the recent abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in Oyo State. According to reports, armed attackers kidnapped several pupils and their teachers, while a teacher reportedly lost his life during the incident.
Expressing her frustration, Jegede condemned what she described as the government's failure to adequately address the country's security challenges. She lamented that ordinary Nigerians continue to bear the brunt of the growing insecurity, with many citizens living in fear.
In a strongly worded post, the actress stated that anyone who continues to support the current administration despite the persistent security crisis shares responsibility for the suffering Nigerians are experiencing.
Every supporter of Tinubu is a k!ller,” she wrote, expressing outrage over the continued attacks, kidnappings, and loss of innocent lives across the country.
Jegede further noted that the situation has become unbearable for many families, urging leaders to take decisive action to protect citizens and restore confidence in the nation's security system.
Her comments have since generated mixed reactions online, with some Nigerians agreeing with her concerns about insecurity, while others criticized her choice of words and political stance.
The incident in Oyo State has once again renewed calls for stronger security measures and urgent government intervention to curb the wave of kidnappings and violent attacks affecting communities across Nigeria.
