There was drama at the Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday as Barrister Marshal Abubakar unexpectedly withdrew the bail application filed for social media personality Justice Mark Chidiebere, popularly known as Justice Crack.
According to reports from the courtroom, tension rose after Barrister Abubakar was allegedly prevented from leading the legal proceedings. Witnesses said the lawyer became visibly upset, pushed other lawyers aside, and stormed out of the courtroom before officially withdrawing the bail application.
Justice Crack, whose real name is Justice Mark Chidiebere, remains in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) following the development.
The incident comes shortly after Barrister Abubakar returned from Turkey, where he reportedly travelled alongside social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VDM. During the trip, VDM was said to have received an award from the Nigerian military — the same military institution linked to the arrest of Justice Crack.
The unexpected withdrawal of the bail application has sparked reactions online, with many questioning the circumstances surrounding the court drama and the future of Justice Crack’s legal battle.
As of the time of filing this report, no official explanation has been provided by Barrister Marshal Abubakar regarding his decision to withdraw the application.
