The support team of Aisha has dismissed circulating reports claiming she has already lost the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Senate ticket for the Federal Capital Territory, describing the claims as false and misleading.
In a statement, the team urged members of the public to ignore what it called fake news, stressing that the party has not yet concluded the selection of candidates for any position across Nigeria.
According to the clarification, the NDC is still preparing for its internal nomination process, which will be conducted either through direct primaries or consensus arrangements, after which official candidates will be publicly announced.
The team alleged that the rumours were being spread by individuals who are uncomfortable with Aisha’s rising political profile within the party, insisting that her emergence as a strong contender has unsettled some opponents.
The party has scheduled its primaries for May 27 and 28, 2026, where official outcomes are expected to be determined. The support team added that the process will be transparent, with results made known to the public rather than left to speculation.
“Whether Aisha wins or loses, everything will be decided at the primaries and made public,” the statement emphasized.
Meanwhile, the supporter reaffirmed personal confidence in her candidacy, declaring: “I am for Aisha.
