POWER STRUGGLE ROCKS ABIA APC AS BEN KALU AND ORJI UZOR KALU CLASH OVER PARTY CONTROL
A leadership crisis has erupted in the Abia State APC as Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu and former governor Orji Uzor Kalu lay conflicting claims over who controls the party structure in the state.
Benjamin Kalu insists he has been assigned oversight of APC affairs in Abia as the highest-ranking federal office holder from the state, while Orji Uzor Kalu counters that he received a separate mandate to coordinate party activities, citing his seniority and political experience.
The clash has created confusion within the party, with members split between both camps and no clear leadership authority. The dispute, tied to broader political alignments ahead of 2027, is now seen as a major internal crisis threatening APC unity in Abia State.
