In Rivers State, no lives were lost, yet President Tinubu hastily declared a State of Emergency.
Conversely, in Kebbi, where 25 schoolgirls were violently abducted, and in a Kwara church where worshippers were murdered and others kidnapped, there has been a deafening silence. No national broadcast, no reassuring words, not even an acknowledgment of the families' grief.
How can a leader remain silent in the face of such atrocities? How can the Presidency respond swiftly to political crises yet remain painfully slow when Nigerian lives are at risk? This raises fundamental questions: What are this administration's true priorities?
Governance or the 2027 elections? Power or people? Mr. President, to lead, Nigerians must be alive. If terrorists continue to invade schools and sanctuaries unchecked, who will remain to govern? A nation cannot thrive, indeed cannot exist, on the graves and tears of its citizens.
With utmost respect, if this government cannot summon the urgency, courage, and competence to confront this escalating evil, is it not honourable to step aside for those who can?
Nigeria is bleeding, and silence or weak statements are not leadership.
