Governor Alex Otti has purportedly issued a strong statement to President Tinubu, emphasizing the non-negotiability of identity.
“I was Biafran before I was Nigerian. I am Igbo before Biafra or Nigeria. No one can rewrite or delete who we are,” he was quoted as saying, a remark now generating intense reactions nationwide.
Otti stressed that Biafra represents more than emotion—it is a people, a legacy, and a destiny.
According to him:
“President Tinubu and every Nigerian must recognize this reality: Biafra is in our veins. You cannot demand that a people discard what defines them.”
On the issue of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s prolonged detention, the governor reportedly stated that releasing him would send shockwaves across the country.
In his words:
“The moment Nnamdi Kanu steps out of detention, Nigeria will feel the full heartbeat of the Igbo nation.”
