Early Life and Education:
Jim Iyke was born on September 25, 1976, in Libreville, Gabon. He hails from Enugu Agidi in Anambra State. He is the only son in a family of eight children.
He had his primary and secondary education in Nigeria and later attended the University of Jos, where he obtained a diploma in Banking and Finance and a BSc in Philosophy.
Acting Career:
Jim Iyke started acting in 1998 and got his big break in 2001 with the movie Up to Rush. He became famous for his rugged, bad-boy lover roles.
He has featured in over 250 movies including Last Flight to Abuja, The Mirror Boy, Between Kings and Queens, Games Men Play, 1 Dollar, and American Driver. In 2007, he established his production company, Untamed Productions.
Business and Philanthropy:
Aside acting, he is a businessman with investments in real estate, fashion, and table water. He also owns the Jim Iyke Foundation for children with special needs.
Personal Life:
Jim Iyke is a proud father. He has three children, including his son Harvis Chukwuebuka Esomugha born in 2015 in Atlanta, USA. He describes fatherhood as his greatest achievement and shares a very close bond with his son.
He is also a divorcee. He was once married to Dana Kinduryte, a Lithuanian-American lawyer. They got married shortly after welcoming their son in 2015.
In interviews, Jim Iyke explained why the marriage failed. He said he struggled to connect emotionally with his wife after losing his mother in 2014 and poured all his attention into being a father.
According to him: "I have had a failed marriage but nobody knows that. I have three kids. I caused my marriage to fail. I am not the type that would blame anybody for my mistakes."
Despite the divorce, he maintains a cordial co-parenting relationship and says he is now focused on raising his kids and building his legacy.
