I pretended I didn’t see the message at first, but he sent another one. So I replied, “I’m busy right now. I’ll call you when I’m free.”
Immediately, I screenshotted the chat and sent it to my friend.
She called me a few minutes later. I’m guessing she had already called her husband to ask why he DM’d me. She then told me it was about her birthday and asked me to call him, which I did immediately.
Guess what he said? “You just ruined the birthday surprise for her. I was planning a trip to Lagos to celebrate her 40th birthday.”
