“The campaign organisation of APC governorship candidate in Oyo State, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, has dismissed attempts to sexualise a viral video showing him with a student from The Polytechnic, Ibadan, seated on his lap during an interview.
The campaign said the students had visited Alli to seek support for a programme and conduct an interview.
It explained that limited seating at the venue prompted Alli to ask one student to sit on his lap, describing the gesture as spontaneous and fatherly.
The campaign condemned what it called politically motivated attempts to distort the incident, urging the public and media to view the video in its full context and focus the 2027 election discourse on ideas, competence, development and the welfare of Oyo residents”.
