A woman has shared a chilling experience from a night journey she says changed her life forever.
According to her, the incident happened while she was travelling overnight from Abuja to Enugu after being called to the Nigerian Bar. She needed to arrive in Enugu early the next morning, so she boarded a six-passenger vehicle.
The journey started normally until they reached the first police checkpoint. An officer stopped the vehicle and insisted the driver was carrying seven passengers instead of six. The driver and everyone inside argued that they were only six, but the officer refused to listen. They eventually paid and continued the trip.
At another checkpoint, the same thing happened. Again, officers insisted there were seven passengers in the vehicle. This time, fear began to spread among everyone in the car. The passengers contributed money, paid the officers, and continued the journey.
As they drove on, the woman said she glanced at the driver's rear-view mirror and was shocked to see a man dressed in white sitting quietly among the passengers. When she looked again, the mysterious man had disappeared.
The driver reportedly became uneasy and started speeding. When they finally arrived in Enugu at about 5 a.m., he asked the passengers if anyone else had seen what he saw. The woman said she admitted seeing the same figure.
According to the driver, he had always heard stories of drivers unknowingly transporting ghosts alongside passengers but never believed them until that night. He concluded that the mysterious man was the "seventh passenger" the police officers kept counting.
The woman described the experience as the most terrifying moment of her life and said it was the reason she has avoided travelling at night ever since.
