Enugu Billionaire Gaius Chibueze Criticises Williams Uchemba Over Defence of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah
Enugu-born billionaire businessman, Gaius Chibueze, has publicly criticised Nollywood actor, Williams Uchembah, for defending his in-law, Peter Mbah, amid growing concerns over governance in Enugu State.
Chibueze, who has consistently expressed dissatisfaction with the current administration, accused Governor Mbah of failing to deliver on key campaign promises. He particularly highlighted the issue of pipe-borne water, noting that the governor had pledged to make it available to residents within six months of taking office. According to him, nearly four years into the administration, that promise remains unmet.
The businessman further alleged that the state government has not made significant impact in critical sectors such as rural road development, healthcare, and job creation. He criticised the administration for prioritising projects like urban beautification, “smart schools,” and the broader “smart city” initiative, instead of rehabilitating existing infrastructure, especially public schools in poor condition and rebuilding primary health centres across the state.
Chibueze also questioned the rising domestic debt profile of the state, expressing concern over what he described as a lack of transparency regarding how borrowed funds are being utilised.
His remarks followed comments by Uchembah, who had defended the governor’s policies and attempted to explain aspects of governance to the public. Reacting strongly, Chibueze took to social media, where he wrote:
“This clown thinks everyone from Enugu is timid and stupid as they would’ve wished!”
The exchange has since sparked reactions online, with supporters and critics of the Enugu State government debating the performance of the current administration.
