The President-General of the Ogidi Town Union, Chief Ikwuka Okoye, popularly known as Anumiri, has been shot dead in a late-night attack that has thrown the Ogidi community into deep shock and mourning.
According to reports from local sources, the incident occurred late on Thursday, February 6, 2026, at Ebenezer Field, Ogidi. Chief Okoye was reportedly attacked alongside a woman whose identity has not yet been confirmed. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
The tragic killing marks a disturbing trend in the community, as this is the second time in less than two years that a sitting President-General of the Ogidi Town Union has been assassinated.
