Three young men were caught early this morning in Muea, Buea after allegedly attempting to abduct two children.
Eyewitnesses report that the suspects arrived in a taxi and were dressed in policestyle gear, including bulletproof vests a move believed to have been intended to deceive the public.
The attempted kidnapping failed when vigilant residents noticed their suspicious behavior and quickly intervened. Two of the suspects were apprehended and beaten by an angry crowd, while the third suspect was rescued by police officers and taken to the Muea Police Station for investigation.
The incident has caused panic and concern within the community, reinforcing the importance of public vigilance and timely reporting of suspicious activities.
