Munyonyo was briefly turned into a live soap opera today after a lunchtime date went terribly off script.
According to eyewitnesses who definitely didn’t mind their business, a young lady was enjoying lunch with her new man when fate — and bad timing — struck. The couple reportedly bumped into her main man, the same gentleman who had generously upgraded her transport status last month with a very expensive car.
Confused and clearly stressed, the main man allegedly asked the only logical question:
“What’s going on… and who is this guy?”
At this point, tension rose faster than fuel prices. Sources say the girl’s side companion reached for a knife, possibly to defend his position in the relationship hierarchy, causing nearby diners to begin shouting and calling for help.
The drama, however, reached its peak when the new boyfriend — visibly offended by the entire situation — stood up in anger and slammed a freshly ordered bottle of red wine onto the floor before storming off.
Observers noted that from the thick, dramatic red colour, the wine was clearly expensive — the kind usually reserved for anniversaries, not public heartbreak. One witness described the scene as “something straight out of a movie… unfortunately without subtitles.”
No injuries were reported, but emotions were badly bruised. Munyonyo restaurants have since resumed normal operations, though patrons are advised to confirm relationship statuses before ordering wine.
