U.S. President Donald Trump has once again taken a swipe at Nigeria, describing the country as “a d!sgrace.” He cr!ticized the Nigerian government for failing to protect its citizens despite receiving substantial support from the United States.
Trump accused the authorities of not doing enough to curb !nsecurity and alleged pers*ecution of Christians across the country. He warned that if the situation does not improve, the U.S. could impose military-related sanctions.
He also stated that America would halt the financial assistance provided to Nigeria, expressing fr*ustration over what he sees as a lack of progress.
The United States reportedly disbursed about $783 million in foreign aid to Nigeria in 2024.
