“There's only one collaboration that I have ever done in my life and till today I appreciate the artist — and that's Don Jazzy.
I didn't even have his number, but they gave me his number, so I called. He was busy so I sent a text:
"Hey Jazzy, it's Timaya. Please, when you're less busy, please call me back."
And he called me back and I was shócked
By then, we were not close because I was still strûggling with music. So he sent his email address and I sent him the song. This was about 1:30 AM in the morning. He called back after 30 minutes and said he loved the song.
I was really happy, then I went back to sleep. At about 4:30, he called back and said he had arranged the song already and included his own verse already.
I was shócked. Then I asked myself, "So this man has not slept?" He sent it back to me and I was WOW when I listened to it, that song was a hit.
