“Before all the fame and big cameras, we were just actors with passion and big dreams.” Patience Ozokwor (Mama G)
In those days, we had no luxury.
No AC, no expensive equipment, no fancy locations.
We acted in villages, under hot sun and heavy rain but we loved what we were doing.
Pete Edochie was a giant among us.
Once he entered a scene, everyone paid attention. He played the wise king, the spiritual leader always with power and respect.
As for me?
I was the wicked mother, the tough mother-in-law, the jealous wife.
People feared me when they saw me in movies but in real life, I’m soft like bread 😄
We didn’t act for money or fame. We did it because we believed in our stories.
We gave everything to build Nollywood from scratch.
Today, when I see Nollywood growing and going global, I feel proud.
Because people like me, Pete Edochie, Olu Jacobs, Sam Loco we planted the seeds.
We made something out of nothing. We made history.
