The Wife of the Governor, Mrs Mary-Maudline Uzoamaka Nwifuru has empowered over 2000 Ebonyi widows, children, and women in the state with sowing and water pumping machines , grinding machines and food items and among others to help them to become self independent
Mrs Nwifuru gave the charge on Tuesday, during the 2023 Ebonyi Women August Meeting, held at the Pa Ngele Oruta Township stadium Abakaliki, with the theme: "Mother, where is your child"
She Charges women to always stay close to their children and train them by themselves and against sending them outside for house maids due to maltreatment they received in the hand of their guardians
'Women should try to checkmate the activities of their children and maids in order to avert any form of abuse in the society.
'Every Ebonyi children needs to be saved from abuse and trafficking, because it's the responsibility of all mothers to ensure the safety of every child around them.
Ebonyi First Lady, therefore, urged women to invest in education, healthcare, and social support system to their families, she also advised women on the needs , to send their children to school
' The Ebonyi State Government, through His Excellency, Governor Nwifuru has given free education for our children to study and to become better for the future purpose, 'When we enroll our children for school , they will make us proud , it's our duty as a Mother to safeguarding our children and give them good education, because we mother's always reap the fruits at the end'
' Women should also show support to their husbands, when the needs raises,
'We Women should being first teachers, caregivers and protectors of our children as they are the future of the society'
In her remarks, Mrs Josephine Elechi, Chairman of the Occasion and Wife of the Former governor of the state, urged traditional institutions and other critical stakeholders to increase actions to add moral values to the society.
State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Felicia Nwamkpuma commended the Governor's wife for her efforts towards encouraging women to rebuild their homes for purpose of moral upbringing of children and the society at large.
'And we will assist our dear Governor Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru to actualized the Principal of People Charter Of Needs , promise to Ebonyi people in his administration'.
