Wife of the Ebonyi State Governor, Chief Mrs Mary-Maudline Uzoamaka Ogbonna Nwifuru has reiterated her commitment to empower more women to go into small and medium enterprises (SMEs) so as to secure their future and boost the economy of the State.
Mrs Nwifuru gave the assurance when she received Ebonyi Market Women for Empowerment who were on a courtesy visit in her office in Centenary City, Abakaliki.

The Governor's wife said her office would work with the leadership of the Ebonyi State Market Women for Empowerment to engage more women into meaningful ventures that would make them self-reliant and promoters of economic growth.
She assured the Association that they would be carried along in everything about her office, adding that their shops at the Ebonyi International Market are secured under the present administration.
Mrs Nwifuru who used the occasion to discourage any act of abuse and trafficking of Ebonyi children, encouraged the women to champion the course of fighting the child help syndrome especially where the education of the child is not guaranteed.
The President of the Market Women, Mrs Adaeze Akochi said the Association is a non governmental organization that supports any Government in power, stressing that their members were drawn from the thirteen Local Government Areas of the State.
She used the occasion to plead with the Governor's wife to protect their interests in the scheme of things and create more conducive environment for women to thrive in Ebonyi markets.
