The Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Prof. Omari Omaka has stated it's readiness for the ministry to revitalized Ebonyi state library towards meet up with international standard.
Commissioner disclosed this to Newsmen when Senior Special Assistants (SSA) on Library Development, Barr. Nwoga Puis paid he a courtesy visit to his office seeking for partnership to revilitazed library in the state at Centenary city Abakaliki on Monday.
Prof Omaka noted that there's no way to attain international standard in Tertiary institutions without the Library, while added that the library will also be restore back to an international standard in the state, in order for students to have access to books and other readable materials
He said;
"There is no way we can attain international standard in our Tertiary institutions without the Library. Gone are the days when it was only hard copy people read.
"Apart from the physical facilities that needs to be restored , we need to also equip the Library to an international standard to ensure that students can access books of all standard, journals and materials to help them prepare adequately and restore Ebonyi to its previous Glory."
"this will also be replicated in all the Libraries in the Tertiary institutions across the State from the State University to the Polythenic and from the Polythenic to the College of Education at Ikwo to the school of technology to the school of Nursing at Afikpo."
Earlier, the SSA to the Governor on Library, Barr. Pius Nwoga has stated it's vision towards restoring the state government Library, so that Governor Nwifuru intent will fully actualize
" I came to liaise with you due to library development because you can not be detached library from education,
"When I assume office at state library complex , i noticed the place is already vandalized ,and it's now, no go area because, it is totally collapse, but there's a way to articulate
"Am here to work in corroboration with your ministry so that our education will fully actualize
" I want the read culture to restore back again, so that Ebonyians will use it for intellectual development and sufficient" Nwoga said.
