The Commissioner For Budget And Planning, Mrs Chinwe Okah, has assumed office on Tuesday, stating it's readiness to help the ministry move forward, especially on tackling challenges faced by workers.
Commissioner Okah promised to engage National Youth Service Commission (NYSC) to assist in work force due to lack of staff in the ministry. She further noted the need to meet with Governor Nwifuru to dialogue with him on issue of employing more staff to the ministry to achieve their goal.
Commissioner for Budget and Planning made this known during the general meeting with the PRS staff in the ministry at block 6 Centenary city, Abakaliki.
She therefore, charged workers of the ministry to put more efforts in their work collectively so that the ministry can deliver on the Governor's mandate.
Commissioner also told the staffs that she will initiate constant training Program for workers under her watch in the ministry
"I will ensure the civil servants under my ministry enroll into training, so that young ones will learn work from old ones
"I will put all my interest to make the ministry move forward.
"The Ministry Bus, will be put in order, to use for monitoring,
"Due to lack of staff in the office, i will engage some workers from NYSC and I will also liaise with the Government to employ some staffs, so that Governor Nwifuru's intention will be actualized", Commissioner said.
Earlier in a separate speech, Mr Okoroagha Ikechukwu, (HOD) PRS In Ministry Of Works & Transport and Mrs Akam Mary C. (HOD) Ministry Of Water Resources who expressed concern over the lack of staff at various departments in the ministry, urged the Commissioner for budget to assist in liaising with the government towards posting more staffs to ease the work load in the office
" This is a situation where one staff hold about three duty post in the office. we need more workers to help ease off work in the office, towards achieving the success."
