Zimbabwean motivational speaker and disability inclusion advocate, Sinikiwe Kademaunga Zhiva, is mourning the death of her husband, Reuben Zhiva.
Sinikiwe shared the sad news yesterday on social media, sparking an outpouring of condolences for the Zhiva family.
Sinikiwe and Reuben's marriage in 2021 captured the hearts of many Zimbabweans. Their union drew admiration because of Sinikiwe's inspirational story and the couple's visible love and dedication to each other. Their family later grew with the birth of their son.
Reuben was widely known as a devoted partner who stood firmly behind his wife's work in advocacy, public speaking and championing disability rights.
The last few months had been tough for the family on the health front. It emerged in June 2026 that a public appeal for financial assistance had been set up after Reuben was diagnosed with a bladder condition that needed immediate surgical care. The initiative was aimed at covering his hospital expenses and supporting his wife and child.
Tributes continue to pour in for the late Reuben, remembered by many as a caring husband and father.
