Abia Governor Alex Otti has again said he personally witnessed the $155 million investment linked to Peter Obi’s administration, as the debate over Anambra’s financial records continues.
Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has once again confirmed that former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, left $155 million for the state before leaving office.
Otti made the confirmation this morning during an interview on Arise TV, while reacting to a video of him that recently went viral.
According to the interviewer, in the viral video, Otti was seen praising Peter Obi for leaving money in government and leaving with a clean slate.
Responding, Otti said that video was from 2020. He said it was a video of him praising the governor for leaving such money and trying to prove that there are still good leaders in Nigeria, that somebody can still be a good leader in the country.
He also confirmed that indeed such thing happened. He explained that as the CEO of Diamond Bank then, Peter Obi came to him asking about converting the money to naira, but he advised him not to do that because the naira will keep falling, so it would be better to leave it in dollars.
When the interviewer then asked him about the current Anambra State governor saying otherwise and claiming that Peter Obi left debt, Otti said if such thing really occurred, he does not know about it because he is not there and he is not in the Anambra government.
He said if such thing really happened, the government should come out with clear evidence to prove that he left debt, but to the best of his knowledge, Peter Obi left $155 million.
