A UNIZIK lecturer identified as Sugar Dripping has defended his colleague, Prof. Ifeanyi Odinye, condemning the alleged assault on the professor and calling for the arrest of the students involved. He also criticized what he described as one-sided reporting of sexual harassment allegations involving lecturers.
A Unizik lecturer identified as sugar dripping on Facebook has defended Professor Ifeanyi Odinye who was beaten by students for alleged $exual harassment on a female student. Sugar dripping mentioned that the accused professor is his colleague
"Prof Ifeanyi is my colleague and I can attest to his high level of integrity. I was so shocked when I saw how our Professor was beaten like a criminal, ( which is totally unacceptable anywhere in the world) and this set of confused fellows unqualified to touch the sacred PhD Gown"
According to sugar dripping, the students saw the professor's gown as just an ordinary cloth, but the Professor who understood the sacred nature of the cloth was still struggling to retrieve it. He described the gown as "The Great Masquerade Gown that takes years to acquire”
Sugar dripping lamented that the media is usually one-sided when reporting stories about $exual harassment between lecturers and students. He posits decried the victimization of lecturers whenever such students get to the Internet
"The problem with Nigerian media is that whenever it comes to Lecturers, the story is always one-sided; the lecturer will always become the Victimizer."
"The power of social media and the quest to go viral have led people to always raise their cameras just to be the first to share unverified news. The question should be: those filming how will they feel if they were in his condition?"
Sugar dripping called for the arrest of the guys in the video that were beating the professor, claiming that they intentionally wanted to k!lol the Professor.
"This set of guys needs to face the law because they came to kill the Professor and nothing else"
