A woman says she's considering ending her two-month-old marriage after her husband refused to make her his next of kin, despite her doing the same for him before they got married. She claims his reaction and lack of effort to reconcile have left her questioning the future of their relationship.
“I got married two months ago and I'm ready for divorce. My marriage is just two months old in the month of April, precisely was when I got married.
This is July and I'm already asking for a divorce. Now this is what happened. I have a perfume business that I'm still currently running.
When I met my boyfriend, which is now my husband, my business was still moving well. So when we started planning our marriage preparation, my boyfriend suggested to me at that time that I should add him as my Next of Kin in my bank account, just in case anything happened. Like this man sat me down and made me understand the reason why I should add him as next of kin.
And because I loved this man, I didn't think twice. The next day I took him to the bank and I added his name as next of kin in my bank account with some kind of benefit as attached to it. So I kind of like added him into the whole thing.
Right now, tell me why after our marriage. My husband has this 5 apartments that he has been building. It's a, it is fine. He leaves me out. Now three is already completed and he has already leased them out. I told this man that I want him to add me as a beneficiary to his bank account, as his next of kin, the way I did mine, because I mean, I am month plus pregnant for you.
And you know, anything can happen. I just wanted him, wanted him to do the same thing that I did for him with my account.
But this man said, I'm in a hurry. Why should I be telling him what to do?. That was his response. I said anything can happen. Now, he said what do I mean? That am I wishing him de@th? And I'm like, no, I am pregnant for you. And we are already married. It only makes sense that you do the same thing that I did for you with my account.
But this man said, no, that he's going to think about it. I should not rush him. I should calm down. Like this thing kind of like led to me seeing him differently.
It led to, I just started having this resentment towards him because I'm like, if I can do this thing for you when we're dating, why can't you do it for me now that we're married? That is I've married you. I've proven myself to you that I love you. And I'm pregnant for you.
Just do it like, I'm carrying your child, but he's not listening. He just twisting the whole. He said, I'm, I'm wishing him something unfortunate.
So it kind of like made me see, him differently. I’ve left his place and I went to my parents' place. But ever since I've been at my parents' place, over a week plus, this man has not called me. This is the same man that knows that I'm carrying his child. He has not called me.
And I'm here asking myself, how did I even make this mistake? Like, how do I make this mistake? Why I’m seeing this now. Like the thing that has been blocking my eye from seeing him for who he is or who he was. Rather, it has, it has gone off my eyes. I'm thinking of div0rce.
I even suggested to him that we should go our separate ways for now so that I can rethink everything. And he just said, okay, like there's no effort in this month to make things work. I'm beginning to think that maybe this man married me because he wanted children.
Maybe because he didn't necessarily love me. (And on top of that, the thing that I did for him, he didn't give me the feats to do it for me. This is July and I'm already filling for a div0rce. Now that the pregnancy is still early, I'm thinking that maybe I should term.in@te it, just div0rce him, give him back his bride price and forge ahead with my life. Because I don't see myself spending my lifetime with a partner that is this selfish.
But what do you guys think? Should I give him the benefit of the doubt? Maybe he's going to eventually come around or maybe I should just do what I'm thinking because life, I know they say life is short, but life is kind of long to spend it with a selfish partner.
I did the same thing for him, but time to reciprocate it, he said, I'm being too fast. So I need your advice. Genuinely, ladies, what do you think I should do? Should I just div0rce him and move ahead with my life?…” -
