These two used to be on the SAME side. Kendrick was featured on Drake's "Take Care" album back in 2011. They collaborated. They showed love. Then the cracks started showing.
Fast forward to October 2023 — J. Cole drops "First Person Shooter" with Drake and calls out "the Big Three" — Drake, Cole, and Kendrick. That one line lit the fuse. Kendrick didn't like being grouped OR ranked.
March 22, 2024 — K.Dot comes out of nowhere on Future & Metro Boomin's "Like That" and hits different: "Motherf*** the Big Three... it's just big me." The internet went CRAZY. The war was officially ON.
What followed was one of the most intense 30-day stretches in rap history:
🔹 Drake drops "Push Ups" mocking Kendrick's height
🔹 Kendrick fires back with "Euphoria" — 6 minutes of pure demolition
🔹 Drake drops "Family Matters" — brings Kendrick's family into it
Kendrick drops "Meet the Grahams" AND "Not Like Us" back to back on the SAME NIGHT
And "Not Like Us" became the anthem. The song that ended the debate.
Then came the AFTERMATH that nobody expected:
"Not Like Us" won ALL FIVE Grammy categories it was nominated for — Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Song, Best Music Video. A diss track. AT THE GRAMMYS.
Kendrick performed it live at the Super Bowl LIX halftime show in front of 133.5 million viewers worldwide — and brought out Serena Williams to dance on stage while he rapped it.
Drake fought back in court — sued Universal Music Group for defamation, claiming they artificially boosted streams for "Not Like Us." The judge dismissed the case in October 2025.
Where does it stand NOW in 2026?
Drake released new music and went on tour but has stayed relatively quiet. Kendrick dropped his album GNX, won every award in sight, and moved on like a man who already knows he won.
The streets have spoken. The courts have spoken. The Grammys have spoken. The Super Bowl stage has spoken.
But here's the real question — do YOU think Drake can ever recover from this? Or is this chapter of his legacy permanently written? Drop your honest opinion below.
