Okafor: On Monday, We Waited For Him, But We Did Not See Him, & I Directed That He Be Arrested—Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh
The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the transfer of a high-profile case involving Senior Pastor Chris Okafor of the Mountain of Liberation and Miracles Ministries to the Zone 2 Police Command, following allegations of serious misconduct.
Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, told TVC News that Pastor Okafor had been invited for questioning but failed to appear as scheduled. “On Monday, we waited for him, but we did not see him, and I directed that he be arrested,” Jimoh stated.
Although his legal team later assured the police he would report, the cleric only presented himself the following day, drawing heightened public attention.
The case, initially handled by the Lagos Command due to social media discussions, had already been under investigation at Zone 2 Police Headquarters for weeks.
Following police hierarchy, the Assistant Inspector General overseeing Zone 2 formally took over, ensuring the transfer was in line with due process and institutional protocol. Jimoh added that contemporary policing allows proactive action, even without formal petitions, when public allegations may affect public order.
