A court has ruled that the arrest of a traditional worshipper, Mr. Effiong widely associated with the Ekpo traditional faith was unlawful.
In its judgment, the court ordered his immediate and unconditional release, faulting the state authorities for violating his fundamental human rights and freedom of worship.
The court also directed the Akwa Ibom State Government to pay damages to Mr. Effiong, describing his detention as a clear breach of constitutional rights.
How can you tell someone how to worship their gods, Nigeria has freedom of religion so you don’t restrict them is not fair.
