If you’ve been following Nollywood for a while, the name Olaedo Daniels — or as most people call her, Ola Daniels many thought she is from Yoruba— might already sound familiar. But beyond the bright lights and movie sets, Ola’s story is one of passion, courage, and reinvention.
Born and raised in Aba, Abia State, Ola hails from Ovom in Obingwa Local Government Area — a proud Igbo woman with deep cultural roots. After completing her education in Aba, life took her far from home — all the way to London, UK, where she studied nursing. Her dedication to helping others landed her a job at St. Anthony’s Hospital, where she served as a nurse before deciding to explore another side of herself.
In 2002, Ola made a bold move into Nollywood, the thriving Nigerian movie industry. What started as a new chapter soon became a lifelong passion. Over the years, she’s graced screens with her talent, bringing authenticity and emotion to every role she plays.
Interestingly, Ola’s fluency and command of the English language are things she takes pride in. She attributes her clear and confident speech to constant learning and her experiences living in different places.
From Aba to London, and from hospital wards to movie sets — Olaedo Daniels is a reminder that it’s never too late to chase a new dream.
