The Anambra State Police Command has issued a stern warning to social media influencer VeryDarkMan, cautioning him against making statements or taking actions that could incite tension or breach public peace in the state.
This warning comes amid concerns over potential unrest related to a candlelight procession or memorial gathering being organized in memory of the late Mr. Ifesinachi Onyekere.The police noted that the Onyekere's family has publicly dissociated themselves from the event, requesting that they be allowed to grieve privately while trusting authorities to handle the matter.
Commissioner of Police Ikioye Orutugu emphasized that Anambra State has maintained its peace due to the efforts of the police and other security agencies. He assured residents and visitors that the command is committed to upholding law and order and warned that anyone attempting to disrupt the peace would face legal consequences.
The police urged social media users and public figures to exercise caution and avoid spreading misinformation or making inflammatory remarks. Anyone found undermining public peace, whether online or offline, will be held accountable under the law.
