“People saw me smiling outside, but deep down, I was not happy. I was married, but my heart was not at peace.
We had a son, and I wanted the best life for him. My husband was not providing much, which I didn’t complain about at first. I was okay with supporting us. But the problem was, he still expected me to stay at home and not work.
That part confused me. How can you not provide fully, yet you don’t want me to work and help? I knew I had to support our son, and I needed to work hard for it. My acting career was my chance to do that.
But every time I went to work, we fought. He didn’t trust me. He didn’t believe in my dreams. I started losing myself. I became sad, tired, and broken inside.
One day, I asked myself, “Angela, do you want to live like this forever?” I knew the answer.
I left. Not because I didn’t love anymore, but because I needed to love myself and take care of my son the right way. I chose peace, and I chose strength."
