“When Mercy Chinwo and Eezee were at loggerheads, I didn’t bother to read it up. I stumbled upon VeryDarkMan’s commentary on that and got all I needed.
VDM sounded so convincing: he showed the receipts and even proved why the date on the contract was altered. After that video, I concluded that Mercy Chinwo was as guilty as a puppy sitting next to poop. I didn’t want to hear what she had to say; my verdict gave room to no appeal.
There is no denying it, VeryDarkMan is a character that has torn Nigerians into two. While some think he is an irritating troublemaker, others see him as a necessary voice holding the villains accountable.
And in a society where traditional media is perceived as compromised or slow to react, VDM's rapid reaction through social media platforms provides a sense of immediate accountability.
While VDM’s blunt and unfiltered commentaries are often perceived as undeniable truth, many of his followers fail to recognize that he is, at the end of the day, just another human—prone to bias and, whether intentionally or not, capable of making false accusations.
Reading through the lawsuit filed by Mercy Chinwo, I paused over the line where the suit said that the videos VDM published on his Instagram page were as though he was personally involved in the issues between Mercy and Mr. EeZee. And thinking about it, I see the dangers in it.
You see, we need people to tell the truth, but we also need to understand that there is a thin line between truth and allegation. We can't just say anything we want because we are convinced that we are on the right side. That is wrong. Sometimes, men err in error. We are all emotional and that can affect our judgment.
If this case of VDM and Mercy doesn’t end in an out-of-court settlement, we may learn a thing or two about talking on social media.”
Moral Lesson: Not everything VDM says is true, but the ignorance once always believe him.
Him VDM is no longer that person you knew before.
Know This And Have Peace.
