The two biggest phools of the industry in the last decade have to be Davido and Wizkid. It doesn't matter how much money you make or if they are richer than your father, a phool will always be a phool.
Now, this is why; the beauty about music is that it gives you the medium to express your feelings.
As far back as the mid 2000s, Eminem and Mariah Carey were at loggerhead. Eminem didn't like the fact that Mariah Carey refused to acknowledge the fact that they dated.
What did Eminem do? He released beef songs for her that became hits like Superman. Mariah Carey also released a beef song for him - one of her best selling singles titled Obsessed.
As at that period, Eminem and Mariah Carey were both in their peak. What did they do? They didn't go out crying to the media or granting interviews. They both told their stories through music and made good money off it.
Now, some of you will say you can only beef through rap. That's a lie! Mariah Carey is an RnB singer and the song about Eminem, was a big hit!
Let's come back to Nigeria.
When Kelly Handsome and MI had beef, what did they do? They both went to the studio to dig it out! MI did a song titled Beef and Kelly Handsome in return, did a song dissing not just MI, but the whole of Chocolate City and Mohits!
There was this time a guy called Nico Gravity did a beef song for Timaya and it was an instant hit. "I want finish Timaya, I wan scatta Timaya".
Let me not forget when Aydotcom and Terry G were beefing each other.
The funny part is that we never knew who was beefing who until a song was made. That's when we'd now start putting two and two together. And these beef songs had names being mentioned ooo!
But these two agbayas called Wizkid and Davido have been beefing for how long and none of them have had the sense to make a song off it.
You're going to Twitter to shade yourselves and having fans fight for you online. Wizzy and David, shame on you!
What happened to two of you going to the studio to make something out of this hatred that has refused to die. You claim to be artists, tell your story or STFU!
Kendrick Lamar and Drake had been beefing each other for years behind the background and nobody knew, until songs were made!
Nas and Jay Z both put their beef into music. Ja rule and 50 cent, same thing. But Davido and Wizkid are bantering words online!
Do you know what it means to make a song that they no born any DJ well to play in Surulere? Do you know what it means to make a song that DJ E-Cool or DJ Obi will be scared of playing, so the audience doesn't start fighting? That's the real beef! If you can't shut up, then put those words into music! It's only when you people want to release an album, you come to Twitter to shade each other. Spineless Cowards!
