Back in 2020, Jovi felt disrespected by MI after MI snubbed him during the Martell Cypher.
MI listed 5 hardcore rappers from Africa who could go toe-to-toe with him when it comes to the rap culture and omitted Jovi.
Jovi felt disrespected by this and decided to call out MI. He promised to enter the studio and address MI in 24hrs and he delivered as promised. He released "Big Bang", a song that conveyed the message of growth in togethernes and respect from nothing to something.
People wanted him to go all wild on MI but he decided to address him with the Big Bang theory in mine, passing the message of love for one another. He did this but reminded MI that when it comes to rap, he treats it like a sport.
MI accepted the challenge but him being a matured mind decided to drop disrespect, pick up respect and acknowledgement. He came to the media, gave Jovi his place (King) and acknowledged Jovi's influence in the rap game. He also acknowledged Jovi's domineering fan base which can only be compared to Wizkid FC, 30BG, Shatta movement, etc.
This move from MI elevated him and he earned respect amongst African hip-hop fans.
Jovi's move brought rap back to life in Africa and underground rappers like Cow Denaro, Lyrical Joe, Mex Cortez and Savji Damji were discovered thanks to Jovi and MI.
Happy 43rd birthday to the legend, the star maker, and a hip-hop great; Mr Incredible Jude Abaga (MI Abaga)
