Back then in 2020, Davido granted an interview with Ebuka and was asked about tweaking his style so as to win a Grammy. Davido's response was a mockery to Beninoise music icon, Angelique Kidjo.
In Davido words, he said:
"It's not about tweaking, I don't have to do all those 'wombo rombo Africa'. Do your music, even if it's to win headies, win an go your way. I don't have to tweak to win the Grammys". Video is in the C0mment section.
Fast forward to 2024, Davido featured in Angelique Kidjo's song allegedly free of charge and tweaked as much as Angelique Kidjo. The song has been submitted for Grammy consideration and Davido is hoping Angelique Kidjo helps him win his first Grammy.
