"I lôst my voice the day I was supposed to record a song with Beyoncé and got it back after the song had been released without me. I will never forgîve my Village People." Yemi Alade
"You know that saying that we always say in Nigeria that "My village people are after me", after Beyoncé contacted me for a collaboration and I lôst my voice the day I was supposed to to get in the studio with her, I felt like my village people were running a marathon from Nigeria to America.
It's so funny because I got my voice back immediately I was removed from the song. I was in Las Vegas when Beyoncé contacted me for a verse so it was easy to go link up with her in Los Angeles which is where her studio and office are located.
So when we got there and got the idea of what we were doing, I was told to come the next day so we could record. But when I woke up the next morning, I had no voice, I couldn't even speak.
But after I was removed from the song and it was released, I got my voice back. That's when I understood what my village people can do. I will never forgîve them."
