The Progressive Ambassadors Movement(PAM) Nigeria has urged the members and Nigerian youths to disengage in participating tomorrow protest
Meanwhile, PAM have taken a notable position regarding the planned protest on August 1st, 2024
This was contained in a statement signed by the Global Convener/ National Coordinator Amb. Comr. Edeh Paschal Miracle, he noted,
" We understand there are plans for an upcoming protest regarding current issues facing our nation and we recognize the concerns motivating this action"
National Coordinator, therefore advised PAM members and Nigerian youth against participating in this protest with hashtag #Endbadgovernance for the following reasons:
"Safety concerns: Large gatherings can pose risks to personal safety, especially in tense situations.
"Potential for unintended consequences: Protests can sometimes escalate beyond their intended scope.
"Alternative channels: There are other effective ways to voice concerns and advocate for change.
He also encourage Nigerian youth to engage in constructive dialogue with local and national representative
" Participate in community organizations working towards positive change"
"Utilize social media and other platforms to share your views responsibly"
The Global Convener/ National Coordinator has called on the government to review some of its policies with the aim of benefiting the citizenry.
While urging government to consider the underlying issues prompting this planned protest. We recommend:
. Reviewing and potentially revising policies affecting youth employment and economic opportunities
. Increasing transparency in governance and decision-making processes
. Expanding channels for citizen feedback and participation in policy formulation
. Investing in education and skill development programs for youth
According to PAM National Coordinator, noted that by addressing these concerns proactively, Nigerian can work together to build a stronger, more prosperous Nigeria without resorting to potentially disruptive protests.
