Rapper and actor Zuluboy, real name Mxolisi Majozi, is taking Rhythm World Productions to court after his lead role in Umkhokha: The Curse was reassigned to Nkanyiso Mchunu. An insider reveals Zuluboy prepared for the role for a week, only to be replaced at the last minute, leading to his legal action over the broken contract and disrespect.
An insider at Umkhokha told ZiMoja that Zuluboy was the original lead but things changed at the last hour. "He was sent to work on the production for a week, he lived on set but did not work,' the insider said. "So, he wasted a good five days, reading scripts and practicing and this was later changed and he was not given the role.
He was made to believe he had the part and signed a contract, only to find out that Nkanyiso was given the part," the source said, adding that Zuluboy felt disrespected. "The company tried to counter offer but he took the legal direction as he was not happy with the offer.'
