"Following intense public backlash, President Tinubu takes decisive action, suspending the contentious Cybersecurity Levy proposed by the CBN. Yet, skepticism lingers as citizens question the effectiveness of the suspension amidst ongoing deductions."
After the deliberations by members of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) today, President Bola Tinubu have ordered the suspension of the infamous Cybersecurity Levy policy of CBN.
The Nigeria's minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris broke the news
Earlier last month, the CBN had rolled out a controversial policy of 0.5% Cybersecurity levy on all banking transactions.
This infamous policy have put the nation against its government in recent times.
However, many believe that the suspension is an "audio" one as banks have already started deducting the charges from customers and transactions.
Well, I hope this will be true or is the government trying to avert the nationwide protests in the coming days?
