Johannesburg, May 21, 2024 - In a significant boost for South Africa's energy sector, Minister in the Presidency for Electricity, Kgosientsho Ramokgopa, credited Eskom officials for the country's enhanced electricity performance.
Announced on Monday, Ramokgopa highlighted the diligent efforts of the power utility's team as a pivotal factor in overcoming the nation’s energy challenges.
“What we are seeing now is an exceptionally improved energy situation,” Ramokgopa stated. “This is a result of a constellation of efforts on the part of Eskom. It’s also an all-of-government effort to ensure that we resolve the challenges that are facing the country…the resolution of an energy deficit.”
The minister’s commendation comes amid ongoing initiatives to stabilize and enhance the national grid, promising a brighter and more reliable energy future for South Africa.
