Nigerians love Cameroonian artists like Kocee and Syndy Emade, yet breaking into Nigeria's entertainment industry remains challenging for them.
The massive love from Nigerian fans doesn't automatically translate to sustained success. Ruth Kadiri's prolific movie releases, combined with robust promotion, exemplify Nigeria's saturated and competitive market. Featuring in a single Nigerian project isn't enough to make a name; consistent output and substantial investment are crucial.
Cameroon's main hurdle is distribution—many films never reach their audience. A viable solution is collaboration: Cameroonian production houses partnering with Nigerian giants like Ruth Kadiri.
This would ensure consistent releases, wider reach, and shared profits, ultimately boosting visibility and income for Cameroonian artists. The key to thriving in Nigeria is preparation, consistency, and financial investment, without which breaking into the market remains an uphill battle.
Why it is hard for Cameroonians to blow in Nigeria?
Nigerians love Cameroonians so much, you can see from the love they showered on Kocee and Syndy Emade anytime they go there for projects. The love is usually massive but there is a PROBLEM.
Ruth Kadiri drops movies every WEEK, Promotes it extensively and most of the actors have the audience to market it already. Let’s say Syndy features in one of her movies, is that enough to make her a great name in Nigeria ? No.
We have so many people in Nigeria that have featured in over 20 movies and no one knows them. Crazy talents left and right.
If Syndy comes back to Cameroon after 1 movie especially when it was not that big , that’s the end of it all. It becomes tough for someone to really blow with that. So how do we solve that ?
We propose Collaboration, the biggest problem our industry has is DISTRIBUTION. Movies doesn’t reach the final consumers and it’s not every movie that gets to Netflix.
What we suggest is Cameroonian actors or actresses with production houses can sign deals with someone like Ruth. A deal that allows them to release their movies under her Chanel , she promotes it and gets her percentage.
In this way our artists can be consistent ,drop more projects and get known at same time make more Money. Ruth is all about business and won’t have any issue with this.
Back to Kocee . Do you think a single project is enough to make a name in Nigeria ?? NO. Credit Alert made people love him and many people know him.
The next thing now is will he keep up with the consistency? Are the funds there ? If keeps up with the consistency and marketing he will only get big.
The problem with many artistes that go to Nigeria for collabs is they do just one and feel like they can conquer naija with it. No. The market in Nigeria is saturated. There are millions of talents struggling to be heard.
They invest money plus consistency. Look at the Boy Seyi signed, he dropped a project and Dapper promoted it until they made millions. Now an Ep is already out.
That’s the consistency and that requires money and they have it.
That’s why they dominate the market always and always. So if you go to Nigeria to do a single project and come back, safe to say it might fail.
When it fails you might start hating on Nigerians, you’ll feel like they are not welcoming and
You’ll feel like they support only their own .
No bruh, nobody sleeps in Nigeria and at the same time they got the money to invest and push. You drop a song and take 4 months to drop a follow up but they drop theirs monthly. How do you compare. ?????
The market in Nigeria is saturated and expensive , if you are going to Nigeria know this truth and go prepared or you will go, waste the little you have and come back here to cry.
Nigerians love and value everyone but you see business ? They don’t joke. Go ready or it might be hard for you.
There are millions of talents in Nigeria and they
Are putting money on their head. Know this and go ready or it will be tough for you.
