"Actually,I recorded Essence at the beginning of 2020. So there wasn't actually a löckdown at the time. That was before Covîd-19. The first freestyle of that song, cuz all my songs are freestyles was in 2020.
And when I did that I took it to Wizkid and when we met up in the studio and he played the beat, I was like this is the beat I like.
And then Wizkid dropped his verse effortlessly and I made the final freestyle and that's how we made Essence." Tems
