In support of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru 's commitments towards the Education sector and empowerment of Ebonyi youths, the Chief Executive Officer, CEO of Chinedu Ogah Foundation and member representing Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Rt. Hon. Comrade Chinedu Ogah, OON, has paid over N13m for 507 indigent students, to enable them sit for the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination, WASSCE, in the State.
This phenomenon has remained a usual practice by the Honourable member as he has made the empowerment and education of the indigent his priority even before his occupation of an elective office.
The students, who were drawn from both Public and Private Schools, are within the Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency of the State.
The Students expressed joy and gladness to God for using Rt. Hon. Ogah to ensure the payment of their 2024 WASSCE fees and sustainability of their academic pursuit.
"We are grateful to God for using our honourable member to pay for our WASSCE fees. This is just amazing. Our parents wouldn't have been able to pay these fees this year at all but thank God for Comrade Chinedu Ogah. We need leaders like him in Ebonyi."
Speaking on the development, Ogah who is also the Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Reformatory Institution said his Foundation had been carrying out such gesture for Ebonyi youths for quite some time.
"This is not the first time we are doing such for our Constituents. They voted for us and it is time for us to translate their votes into different types of empowerment. Empowerment in form education is simply the best and we will continue until we change the narrative in Ebonyi State.
"We have made several other payments as regarding their education, so that they can participate in their examination. The future of our Youths is very important. When the youths are properly educated, the future of Ebonyi State is secured and guaranteed.
Recall that the present administration led by Governor Nwifuru has introduced some reforms, policies and programmes to boost teaching and learning in the State.
