Representatives from the Solution Innovation District (SID) recently visited Nnamdi Azikiwe University, engaging with Prof. C.H Achebe, the Dean of Student Affairs, to discuss the integration of university students into the technological advancements brought to Anambra by the state governor.
Mr. Anajemba Ike Peter, Senior Special Adviser to the Governor on Innovation and Business Incubation, led the delegation. During the meeting, he highlighted SID's achievements, including initiatives such as Level Up Anambra, Teens Digital Bootcamp, and the Anambra Tech Drive webinar series. The Tech Drive, a monthly program, aims to enhance tech literacy among Anambra residents. Mr. Anajemba emphasized the importance of Code Anambra, a program set to kick off, and the governor's vision to establish a Silicon Valley in Anambra.
Discussing the necessity of angel investors, Mr. Anajemba explained that after training, investors could support the most promising students, potentially leading to job placements. He also stressed the governor's commitment to making Anambra a hub for digital innovation.
Prof. C.H Achebe, in agreement, commended Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo for promoting a digital economy in Anambra. The Dean applauded the governor's "1 Youth, 2 Skills" program as a testimony to creating self-sufficiency and reducing dependence on white-collar jobs. He appreciated the governor's efforts to build a digital tribe in Anambra, foreseeing a positive impact on mental health and crime rates.
Support for the governor's initiatives extended to the Student Union Government (SUG) represented by Mr. Izuchukwu Ife, who expressed approval of the governor's commitment to shaping the future of Anambra's youth.
Miss Esther Okafor, the Director of Academics, Women Affairs, and Empowerment, lauded the governor's efforts, foreseeing economic independence for the youth.
Mr. Lawrence NnaNna, President of the National Union of Anambra State, also expressed appreciation for SID's role in training the youth for the digital age.
The collaborative efforts between Solution Innovation District and Nnamdi Azikiwe University signify a positive step towards empowering Anambra's youth with essential digital skills, aligned with the governor's vision for a tech-driven future.
