The Federal Government has commenced the inspection of Federal Road projects in the Southeastern part of Nigeria.
Recall that the Federal Government had last week carried out extensive project inspection across the Southwestern States of the country with a charge on contractors to hasten the completion of all ongoing road construction projects in line with specifications.
This was contained in a press release signed and issued by Emeka Julius Chijioke, the Media Assistant to the Honourable Minister of Works, he stated, however, that Senator Engr David Umahi taking a tour across the Southeast with Enugu State as the first port of call.
While arriving in Enugu State, the Honourable Minister, accompanied by the Senator representing Ebonyi North Senatorial District, Senator Onyekachi Nwebonyi, Director, Highways, South East, Engr. B. U. Obioha, Barr chioma Nweze, journalists and other stakeholders inspected . Rehabilitation of Enugu-Port Harcourt expressway, section III: Enugu-Lokpanta in Enugu State.
The Minister also inspected the rehabilitation of Ozalla-Akpugo-Amagunze-Ihuokpara-Nkomoro-Isu-Onicha, Nenwe—Nomeh—Mbururu-Oduma Road in Enugu State, rehabilitation of Ojo-Mmaku-Awgu-Ndeabor Road with Spur in Enugu State; construction of Ugueme-Nenwenta-Mkwe-Ebere-Awgunta-Obeage-Nmaku Road In Enugu State.
Other projects inspected were:
Rehabilitation of Old Enugu -Onitsha Road (Opi Junction-Ukehe Okpatu-Adoh Udi-Oji to Anambra Border) in Enugu State, rehabilitation of outstanding sections of Enugu-Onitsha Expressway in Anambra and Enugu State under the Road Infrastructure Tax Credit Scheme (RITCS), rehabilitation of Umama-Ndiagu-Agba-Umumbu Road sections II In Enugu State.
Therefore, the jubilant crowds who welcomed the Minister commended the Federal Government of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed for embarking on life-saving projects.
Responding , Senator Umahi assuring the people of greater things in the offing, while reminded the people that the Federal Government will not falter in the execution of the Renewed Hope for the greater good of all. The Renewed Hope is here and is still working
Meanwhile, the Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru
has approved the construction of the 21.4KM Ezzagu - Ezillo road leading to
Marist Comprehensive College Onunweke, Ezzagu; Ishielu LGA Ebonyi State.
Hopefully, the Roads will be completed soon.
