The Distinguished Senator representing Ebonyi North Senatorial District, Senator Barrister Onyekachi Peter Nwebonyi has promised to attract federal jobs for the unemployed graduates, give financial grants to businessmen and women as well as to attract road networks and other projects to his constituency
Senator Nwebonyi made the promise when played host to several groups visited him, at his Isophumini Mbeke Ishieke country home, to welcome and celebrate the 'Ojiji Izhi' festival with him.

First in the groups visited, was the Political class and Stakeholders of Mbeke Ward, the Former Commissioner for Solid Minerals, Chief Chris Uchaji, who spoke on behalf of the stakeholders told the Senator that,they came to welcome and merry with him in the spirit of the 'Ojiji' Festival, expressing joy over his reverberating voice and excellent performance in the floor of the Senate.
Chief Uchaji reassured the stakeholders' resolved commitment to supporting him in every angle of his expectations, towards full implementation of his policies and programmes for the benefit and overall development of the area.
The Senator Nwebonyi thanked them immensely for sending him to Abuja as their Senator, saying, he will do his best to liberate his people from Poverty and develop the area rapidly.
' I am grateful to you,for sending me to Abuja. However, before going to the Senate, I already have intention to liberate and develop our area'. In doing so, ' I was the first Senator to move motion in the floor of the Senate,against Police's brutality, intimidation and undue harassment meted against Commuters and other users of federal highways'
Senator Nwebonyi disclosed that he has started lobbying for the construction of Ebonyi/Benue-Otuokpo federal road which is the shortest route to Abuja.
He, therefore commended Governor of Ebonyi State,His Excellency, Chief Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for approving for the construction of Odomoke-Ekebe/Isophumini Road.
While, He told the stakeholders that within this two months stint in the Senate, he had worked so hard to penetrate to the politics of the Senate and today,by the grace of God, soon, he would be joining in the leadership cadre of the tenth Senate, where, there will vast opportunity to attract jobs for the teeming unemployed youths and more projects for his constituency. He thanked God for his enormous grace and favor that has so far guided him.
Senator Nwebonyi said,he is in the Senate to create positive impacts, which shall be a reference point for future Senators that will come from the zone in particular and Ebonyi State at large.
He assured the Stakeholders that,they will be meeting from time to time to initiate people's oriented programmes, as well to assess his achievements.
Earlier, the Senator had in audience the executives and members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers ( NURTW) Nwori Market Branch led by Mr Benjamin Nwofeoke, where he assured them of his readiness to restructure and expand the Market to achieve the target goals.
